7:00 AM - Departure from Cusco

  • The tour begins with an early departure from Cusco, traveling towards the Sacred Valley, located about 50 km northeast of the city.
  • Recommendation: Wear comfortable clothing, sunscreen, and bring a water bottle, as the day will be filled with walking and exploration.

8:30 AM - Arrival at Pisac

  • Location: Pisac, an ancient ceremonial and agricultural center of the Incas.
  • Altitude: 2,900 meters (9,514 feet) above sea level.
  • We begin with a visit to the Pisac Archaeological Site, famous for its impressive agricultural terraces that are still used by local farmers.
  • Highlight: The Temple of the Sun and the terraces, which showcase the Inca’s mastery in agricultural engineering.
  • Exploration: A guided tour of the temples, plazas, and stunning views of the valley stretching across the Andes.
  • Time to take photos and enjoy one of the most beautiful views of the Sacred Valley.

11:00 AM - Visit to Ollantaytambo

  • Location: Ollantaytambo, an archaeological complex and still-inhabited Inca town.
  • Altitude: 2,792 meters (9,160 feet) above sea level.
  • We continue to Ollantaytambo, an important religious, agricultural, and military site.
  • Highlight: The terraces of Ollantaytambo, used for agriculture, and the Temple of the Sun, with massive stones that remain in their original position.
  • History: Ollantaytambo was the site of a famous battle against the Spanish conquistadors, and its architecture demonstrates the Inca’s military strategies and social organization.
  • Free time to explore the town of Ollantaytambo, one of the few places in Peru where you can still see Inca urban planning intact.

1:00 PM - Traditional Lunch in the Sacred Valley

  • Enjoy a traditional Andean lunch at a local restaurant, where you can try regional dishes such as cuy (guinea pig), trout from the Urubamba River, or alpaca with Andean potatoes.
  • Recommendation: Relax and enjoy the surrounding environment while savoring the local cuisine.

2:30 PM - Visit to Chinchero

  • Location: Chinchero, known for its artisan market and cultural heritage.
  • Altitude: 3,762 meters (12,343 feet) above sea level.
  • Explore the Chinchero market, where locals, mostly of Quechua origin, sell handmade textiles, pottery, and other crafts.
  • Highlight: The Chinchero Archaeological Site, with its agricultural terraces and a colonial church built over an ancient Inca temple.
  • Cultural demonstration: The local community gives live demonstrations of traditional weaving and natural dyeing techniques, offering insight into their ancient craftsmanship.

4:00 PM - Return to Cusco

  • After the visit to Chinchero, we’ll return to Cusco, arriving around 6:00 PM.
  • During the return trip, enjoy breathtaking views of mountains, valleys, and farming fields.
  • End of the tour: Transfer to the hotel or drop-off point, concluding the Sacred Valley of the Incas tour.
